Description
Eland Hall is a house dating from the early 18th century, with an earlier core, and features alterations from the early 19th century. It is built of squared stone and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has seven bays. The fifth bay contains a six-panelled door with an overlight set within a Tuscan entablature. The windows are four-pane sashes with projecting sills. The roof is steeply pitched and gabled, with 18th-century kneelers, and there are banded end and ridge stacks.
At the rear, there is a projecting cross-gabled stair wing on the left, which has renewed 16-pane sashes and 18th-century kneelers. To the right, there is a stair and kitchen wing that runs parallel to the front range, also featuring renewed 16-pane sashes and 18th-century kneelers.
Inside, Eland Hall has two early 18th-century open-well staircases with thick turned balusters and moulded handrails. The staircase at the east end of the house has a boldly wreathed handrail. There is a large 17th-century fireplace with a stop-chamfered elliptical arch, along with two- and six-panelled doors, panelled shutters, and reveals.
