Description
Nos. 3 and 5 Bell Villas is a building dating from 1822, originally a smithy and attached house, now used as an agricultural machinery shop. It is constructed of dressed stone. The smithy (No. 3) is a single-storey structure with three bays, featuring a boarded door and a lintel that is carved with the date in fine lettering. It has flanking windows typical of a blacksmith's shop and a gabled roof. The house is two storeys with two bays, a panelled door, and four-pane sash windows. Its gabled roof includes banded end stacks. This building is a rare example of a dated smithy.
