Description

St Andrew's Cemetery Mortuary Chapels were built in 1858-1859 and feature two three-bay chapels that are symmetrically positioned along the axes of the lodges. Designed in a decorated style, the chapels are constructed from coursed dressed rubble. They have rubble porches that face each other and include corner towers topped with small spires. The east chapel has eight crocketted canopies, while the west chapel features eight plain blind tracery panels. The roofs are covered with slate, arranged in fishscale patterns with horizontal bands and crested ridges, and there are pinnacles at the corners. The entrances are pointed and adorned with labels.
