Description
The two lodges at St Andrew's Cemetery were built in 1858-1859 and are designed in the Gothic style. They are T-plan, one and a half storey structures, separated by short walls and a gateway, creating a large lay-by off the road. The lodges feature pierced bargeboards and weathervanes on their gables, along with zoomorphic corbels at the corners of the eaves. Constructed from ashlar, they have slate roofs adorned with horizontal bands of fishscale slates. The road-facing side has four-light bays, while the courtyard side has three-light windows. The windows are mullion and transom casement types with shouldered heads, and there are shouldered doorways leading to the courtyard. The eastern lodge includes a small ornamental drinking fountain to the east.
