Description
The old limekiln, likely built in the early 19th century, is located on the north bank of Black Cleugh, next to the track leading to Intake Head. It is constructed of squared rubble and features a sub-circular kiln that is built into a steep hillside just below the track. The kiln has a single corbelled drawing arch and is topped with coping made of larger, roughly-shaped blocks.
