Description

The retaining wall fronts numbers 9 to 17. It dates to the 19th century, constructed from rock-faced rubble. A section of earlier rubble is visible where steps lead down to a lower level at the gable end of number 17. A modern curved return wall is present on the north side. Early 19th century cast iron railings, with urn-shaped pedestals, run in front of number 17 and down the steps. Number 17 and the retaining wall form a group with numbers 1 to 15, which are considered to be of local interest.
