Description
Park Lodge is a gate lodge dating from around 1800, with a later 19th-century extension at the rear. The front is made of tooled-and-margined ashlar, while the sides are constructed from squared stone. It features a Welsh slate roof with a brick chimney. The building has a plinth and is a single storey with a three-bay front. The central bay projects slightly forward and contains a 16-pane sash window, flanked by two 12-pane sashes. To the left is a blind doorway, and to the right is a doorway leading to an internal porch, which is now glazed. The eaves have a moulded cornice, and the pyramidal roof has all ridges radiating from a central banded axial stack.
The left return has a three-bay layout with a slightly-recessed broader central bay that features a 4-pane sash window and a renewed 4-pane sash to the left. The right return also has three bays, showing an opening to the porch, which is now glazed, and two 16-pane sashes, one of which has been renewed. At the rear, there is a small kitchen wing with a stepped-and-corniced end stack. The 20th-century extension to the wing is not of special interest.
