Description

The Old Felton Bridge over the River Coquet is a bridge that likely dates back to the 15th century and was widened in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from squared stone, with the east side of the north arch featuring tooled-and-margined stone. The bridge has three arches, each supported by four chamfered ribs, and all arches have been widened towards the west. The west face includes two semicircular arches and one segmental arch, all with arch rings, and triangular cutwaters that rise on refuges. The parapets are topped with chamfered coping. The southern part of the bridge is located in Thirston parish, within the Castle Morpeth area.
