Description

These are a pair of houses dating from the early to mid-18th century, located on the west side of Princes Street in Corbridge. They are constructed from squared stone with tooled dressings, and have a Welsh slate roof. The original stack has been heightened and a second rebuilt in brick.

The houses are three storeys high and have a facade of three bays each. Each house has a centrally positioned, renewed front door within a surround of alternating blocks and a narrow chamfer. Flanking the doors are twelve-pane sash windows; the left window in No. 5 has been renewed. No. 7 has a twelve-pane sash window to the right and a shop window to the left, featuring a cornice supported by carved consoles. The upper windows are all nine-pane sashes, each with tooled lintels and sills. A 20th-century yard entrance sits between the two houses.

The right gable has been coped and includes a moulded kneeler and the rebuilt brick stack. A ridge stack is also present.
