Description

This is a Saxon stone cross located about 3 meters south of the tower of the Church of St. Michael in Warden. An attached plaque identifies it as the Warden Village Cross, dating to the early 7th century. The cross features a crudely cut hammerhead design in relief. Originally, it was situated in the garden of Nether Warden House and was moved to its current location in 1957.
