Description
The lych gate to the north of the Church of St Michael was built in 1903. It is constructed from stone and timber, topped with a stone slate roof, and is designed in a Free Gothic style. The gate features an ornate timber superstructure resting on a moulded stone plinth. It has four gables adorned with traceried barge-boards above shouldered arches, which include carved foliage in the spandrels. There is also an inscription commemorating Mary, the wife of George Cruddas.
