Description

Low Warden Farmhouse is a house dated 1828, though with alterations suggesting earlier origins. The front is built of coursed freestone, with the rest of the building constructed of roughly coursed rubble with quoins. It has a low-pitched Welsh slate roof with stone copings, a stone end chimney, and a rebuilt brick chimney. The house has two storeys and three windows. A central half-glazed, four-panel door is topped with an oblong fanlight. The windows are 16-pane sashes, set within tooled and margined stone lintels and sills. The rear elevation is similar to the front, but includes an inserted lintel above the door, dated 1685 with re-cut initials, and a long staircase window above. A one-storey outhouse extension extends from the left side, featuring a stone-flagged roof and two boarded doors. The interior was not inspected.
