Description

EDLINGHAM LEMMINGTON BRANCH NU 11 SW NU 13091155 9/121 Kennels Cottage 200 metres north- west of Lemmington Branch GV II

Cottage, probably late C18 extended late C19. Rubble with cut quoins and dressings; purple Scottish slate roof with C20 brick stack, Lakeland slates on extension. South elevation 1 storey, 3 + 2 bays. C18 left part has 4-pane casement windows in stone surrounds, that to right in former door opening. Each return is an embattled screen wall. Taller late C19 right part has similar fenestration; coped right gable with stepped-and-corniced end stack. Left return shows 4-pane casement with blind circular opening above. Rear elevation of C19 extension shows gabled dormer with small-paned casements and ornamental bargeboards.

Adjacent wooden shed on north is not of special interest.
