Description
The Old Forge is a cottage from the later 18th century, constructed of coursed rubble stone with a Collyweston slate roof featuring brick ridges and stacks at the right end. The former front of the building faces the yard of The Olde Greetham Inn. It is two stories high, with two sets of 2-light casement windows and three similar windows on the ground floor, along with a 1-light stair window. There is a six-panelled door with a glazed top panel located to the far left. The windows have wooden lintels, one of which has a piece of carved wood dated 1763 attached to it, likely brought in from elsewhere. To the left end of the building, there is a long single-storey extension, and a smaller extension with a hipped roof is located at the right end. The entrance to the cottage is now at the rear. The building is included for its group value.
