Description
The remains of piers and a water channel, dating from the early 19th century, are located north of Nunwick Mill. These squared rubble piers, spaced at intervals of 3.0 to 4.0 metres, supported a water channel that formed an approximately 100-metre long aqueduct supplying water to Nunwick Mill. There are 11 remaining rectangular-plan piers, which increase in height from 1.0 to 2.5 metres as they approach the mill to accommodate the sloping site. The water channel itself has mostly collapsed and is now only visible in a short section near the mill. This structure is included for its group value.
