Description
Hemmels south of Fairshaw Farmhouse is a former hemmels now used for storage, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of squared rubble with ashlar dressings and features a purple slate roof. It is a single-storey structure with six bays. The left bay contains a loose-box with a boarded door. There are five segmental arches with flush voussoirs supported by square-plan piers, and a central cross wall divides the space. The roof has coped gables and shaped kneelers. This building is included for its group value.
