Description
The entrance screen and front wall to Togston House is an entrance screen and garden wall. The screen likely dates from the mid-19th century, while the wall is from the 18th century. It is constructed from squared stone with cut dressings. The screen features square gate piers with attached jambs, a plinth, moulded cornices, and low pyramidal caps. The quadrant walls, which have a plinth and low-pitched coping, connect to the end piers that also have low pyramidal caps. There are older walls on either side; the longer wall to the left has coping that ramps down and extends for about 50 metres from the pier. This structure is included for its group value.
