Description
White House Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with a core that dates back to the late 16th or early 17th century. It is constructed of dressed stone and features a graduated Lakeland slate roof. The building stands two storeys high and has five bays. There is a 20th-century central door set within a slightly chamfered alternating-block surround. The windows are renewed sash windows located in their original openings. The gabled roof has flat coping and end stacks, with the stack on the right rebuilt in brick. At the rear, there is an outshut. The walls of the house are approximately 3 feet thick, while the east wall and the rear wall within the outshut are about 4 feet thick.
