Milepost, late C19, probably by Smith Patterson Ltd. of Blaydon. Cast iron, painted white with black figures. Oval top with faceted twin faces, on circular fluted shaft. Raised legend ALNWICK 7 MILES / CHATTON 7¾ MILES. Partly buried in bankside.
