Description
There are 13 boundary stones located on the parish boundary with Callaly Civil Parish, likely dating from the 18th century. These stones are made of sandstone and are rectangular pillars, standing between 0.40 and 0.70 metres high, with flat or roughly-segmental tops. Each stone has incised letters: an "A" on the west side and an "S" for Swinburne on the east side. One stone, indicated by the Ordnance Survey at NU 06930720, was not observed, possibly obscured by deep bracken on a 45-degree slope.
