Description
The gate piers and screen walls located about half a mile north of Halton Castle date from the 17th century or early 18th century. They are constructed of ashlar stone and feature four tall rusticated piers topped with ball finials. The finials on the inner piers have short spikes. The walls connecting the piers have cornices and include pierced panels with designs of circles and semicircles.
