Description
The Waterwheel Pit at Holmslinn Shaft, located on the south bank of the River East Allen, is associated with a mid-19th century lead mine. It is constructed of squared stone with ashlar dressings and features an internal facing. The structure is rectangular and is partly built into the hillside. At the lower end, there is a semicircular arch with a narrow chamfer and a slightly raised chamfered keystone.
