Description
This is a dovecote and hen house located about 100 yards south of East Kyloe Farmhouse. It dates from the 18th century and was heightened in the early 19th century. The ground floor is made of ashlar stone, while the upper part is constructed from snecked rubble, topped with a Welsh slate roof.
The structure is two storeys tall and approximately 12 feet square. There is a door on the south side. The roof features four cross gables, each with a triangular-headed recess that includes three alighting ledges and eleven pigeon holes set into a stone screen.
Inside, the upper floor contains pigeon nesting holes, while the ground floor has larger nesting holes for hens.
