Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Dial Place is a house that has been subdivided, likely built in the late 17th century and altered in the early 19th century. The front is made of roughly-squared stone that has been heightened with squared stone, while the rear wing is rendered and whitewashed. The building has a pantile roof with brick stacks and consists of two storeys with three windows.
The central entrance features a vertical-panelled stable door set in an old chamfered surround, with a similar door to the left in an inserted opening with a timber lintel. To the left, there is a renewed shop window beneath a timber cornice supported by moulded brackets, and to the right, a 20th-century bow window. On the first floor, there are renewed tall 12-pane sash windows in openings that incorporate the original first-floor jambs and visible attic window heads. The end stacks have been rebuilt and banded.
The left return reveals a single-storey rear wing with a boarded door and a 16-pane sash window. A flat-roofed wing to the rear right is not of special interest.
