Description
The farm buildings east of The Crag farmhouse date from the 18th and 19th centuries. They are constructed of dressed stone and random rubble, topped with Welsh slate roofs, and are arranged in an L-shape around a yard with the farmhouse. On the right, there is a projecting single-storey building featuring a mid-19th century castellated screen wall that has a higher central turret and two rows of ventilation slits beneath pronounced hoodmoulds. On the left, there is an 18th century two-storey byre with a granary above. This section has external stone stairs leading to an upper door on the right, a nearly central ground floor door with an alternating surround, and two first floor half-slatted windows. It has a gabled roof with flat coping. To the left, there is a single-storey extension that has a similar doorway and a roof that is hipped on the left. The farmyard is cobbled and features a raised pavement made of random rubble.
