Description

West Woodburn Bridge is an early 19th-century bridge constructed of ashlar stone. It features two broad segmental arches that are framed by arch bands, with an additional band at the base of the parapet. The bridge has triangular cutwaters with chamfered plinths that rise to the parapet, creating canted refuges. The abutments and parapet are canted outwards at each end. The parapet, which has chamfered coping stones, terminates in piers topped with shallow pyramidal caps. The bridge was reconstructed in 1957 using original materials.
