Description
West End House is a house from the mid-18th century, constructed of squared stone with cut dressings and topped with a Welsh slate roof. It has two storeys plus an attic and features three narrow bays. On the left side, there is a six-panel door framed by an architrave with a swell frieze and pediment, with a four-pane sash window above it, set under a round arch that includes imposts and a keystone. To the right, there are 12-pane Yorkshire sash windows on the ground floor and 12-pane vertical sashes above. All the windows are set in raised stone surrounds with a narrow chamfer, except for a small attic window located directly below the eaves in the centre bay. The right gable is coped and sits on a moulded kneeler, while there is a stepped-and-corniced stack at the right end. The adjacent house to the right, which was built around the same time, has been altered and is not of special interest.
