Description
No. 5 Market Place is a house from the mid-18th century that was altered in the 19th century. It is built from squared stone with cut dressings, except for the right end which has tooled-and-margined quoins. The roof is made of Welsh slate. The building has two storeys and three irregular bays. The left bay features a pair of doorways; the doorway on the right has a four-panel door, while the doorway on the left is blocked and has a four-pane sash window inserted. The other ground-floor windows are similar. On the first floor, there are 12-pane sash windows that are narrow in proportion. All openings are surrounded by chamfered blocks. The right gable is coped, and there is a stepped and corniced ridge stack.
