Description

This is a pair of houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from roughly squared stone with tooled quoins and dressings, and have a Welsh slate roof. The houses are two storeys high and consist of five bays, which are slightly irregular in their arrangement. The front door for No. 2 is a flush-panelled door located in the second bay, while a renewed front door sits three steps up in the right-end bay of No. 1. Both houses feature 16-pane sash windows with projecting sills, set within surrounds made of alternating blocks with narrow chamfers. The gables have coping stones, and the end and ridge stacks are stepped and corniced, with panelled shafts. The house to the right connects to the return wall of No. 1 Market Place.
