Description

The Forster and Turnbull headstones, located approximately 10 yards south of the Church of St. Mary, are two notable memorials.

The first headstone commemorates Matthew Forster, who died in 1758. It features a scrolled pedimented top adorned with an angel and a symbol of eternity, with moulded sides and an inscription set in a cartouche.

The second headstone is for William Turnbull, who passed away in 1788. This stone also has a scrolled pedimented top, which bears the head of an old man with a curly beard. Below this is a festoon and an inscription set in a cartouche, framed by a decorative border.
