Description
The Chapel is a shelter shed with a granary above, located 70 meters south-west of Corridge farmhouse. It dates from the early 19th century, while the adjacent byre is from the 18th century. The south front is made of squared stone, with the sides constructed from rubble and dressed stone; the byre features coursed roughly-squared stone. The building is designed in the Gothick style, featuring a gabled front to the south with a chamfered plinth, two blind pointed windows, and a pitching eye above, along with an open-pedimented gable. The left side has four square granary windows and a coped gable with moulded kneelers. To the left is a lower byre with a part-slatted window set in the blocking of an older chamfered doorway. The right side has an arcade of four segmental arches, with the rightmost arch being blocked, but this side is within a 20th-century shed that is not of interest.
