Description
Nesbit Cottage is an estate house built around 1870. It features painted dressed stone with ashlar quoins and surrounds, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building is L-shaped, two storeys high, and consists of four bays. The doorway is located in a porch that is partly projecting and partly recessed, featuring a chamfered surround and a shield above it. There is a small lean-to with a stone roof.
The right bay projects with a cross-gabled design and includes a three-light mullioned window set in a slightly projecting square bay with a stone pent roof. The other windows are two-light mullioned windows. The gabled roof has kneelers and ridged and roll-moulded coping, with one quadruple conjoined and corniced ridge stack, along with similar chimneys on the cross wing.
