Description

This headstone, located 3 metres south of the Church of St. Mungo, dates from 1751 and commemorates George and Sarah Middleton. Made of sandstone, it stands 1.0 metre high and features a segmental top. The top panel is sunk and adorned with two carved angel heads above wings. The inscription reads: "HERE LIE THE BODIES OF CHRISTr. MIDDLETON'S TWO CHILDREN."
