Description
Rectory Terrace is a terrace of three houses, originally a coach house and barn, built in the early 19th century with mid-19th century alterations. Number 2 is dated 1813 on its keystone. The buildings are constructed from squared rubble with white-painted dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof and dressed stone chimneys. Each house is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with Number 1 located on the left. There is a straight joint between Numbers 2 and 3, and squared quoins are present at the ends and junction. Each house features a central doorway with alternating jambs and a replaced door. The windows are replaced 16-pane sashes with projecting sills. Number 2 has a blocked segmental coach arch with a raised keystone dated 1813 and an inserted sash in the left bay. The terrace has a continuous steeply-pitched roof with coped gables and shaped kneelers, along with end and two ridge stacks that have chamfered top bands. There are also blocked breathers on the return of Number 1, which was formerly a barn. Additionally, single-storey outshuts with pent roofs have been added to the rear of each house.
