Description

The wall on the north side of Church Flags is a Grade II listed structure located at the west end of Church Flags. It dates from the post-medieval period and is constructed of rubble, measuring approximately 15 yards in length. The wall does not bond with the archway leading to Cowgarth and returns about 1 yard at the north-east end. An early 18th-century bolection doorway has been built into the wall, and crenellation has been added. This wall, along with the archway to Cowgarth and the adjacent wall, forms a group with St Andrew's Priory Church.
