Description
7-9 Front Row is a terrace of cottages built around 1740 and later remodeled and heightened around 1818. The cottages are constructed from squared stone, with the first floor featuring tooled dressings, and they have Welsh slate roofs. The building stands two storeys high and consists of twelve irregular bays. Each cottage has boarded doors with three-pane overlights set in chamfered surrounds. The windows are Yorkshire sashes without glazing bars, featuring slightly projecting sills; the sills and lintels are tooled and margined, except for the renewed twelve-pane sashes in number 7 and the four-light mullioned window in number 9, which has a central king mullion and leaded lights. The roof is topped with five stepped and corniced ridge stacks that have corniced shafts.
