Description
This is a headstone located 9 metres north-east of the south gate to the churchyard of St. Mary in Lesbury. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of sandstone. The headstone has a swept arched top and features inscriptions on raised panels that are flanked by pilasters. On the west side, there is a death's head, crossed bones, and a recumbent hourglass above the inscription for George Young, who died in 1749. On the east side, there is a cherub above the inscription for Thomas Young, who died in 1761.
