Description

This headstone, dated 1764, is located 12 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. Mary in Lesbury Village. It is made of cut sandstone and features a shaped top. The design includes fluted pilasters that support a trefoiled pediment above a coat of arms, which depicts a lion's head and a figure rising from waves. The inscription commemorates a gentleman who died on 24 December 1764 at the age of 30. The headstone is well preserved, although there is an eroded patch around the name.
