Description
West Lodge is a gate lodge built in the early 20th century. It features squared tooled stone with tooled-and-margined ashlar dressings, timber-framed gables with pebbledashed infill, and a red clay tile roof, all in a Free Tudor style. The building has an L-shaped plan and is one storey high with two bays. The left bay projects and has a canted end with three 2-light windows and a pyramidal roof. The right bay has three steps leading up to a vertical-panelled door set in a chamfered three-centred arch. The left side shows two shorter sashes with nine panes each, while the right side features a three-light window under a gable with vertical studding and moulded bargeboards. The rear elevation has a similar gabled right bay and includes a basement.
