Description
This is a row of cottages dating from the 18th century, which was remodelled in the mid-19th century and again in the 20th century when it was converted from three to two dwellings. The cottages are constructed of roughly-tooled squared stone, with a later, 19th-century bay at the east end built of more neatly-cut masonry. Returns and the rear are of squared rubble. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. The row comprises a single storey and ten irregular bays. There are two boarded doors and six four-pane sash windows, along with one six-pane casement and a small 20th-century window inserted into the former doorway near the left end. Coped gables are present at the ends and between Nos. 7 and 8. The left end and two ridge stacks are stepped and feature chamfered caps; the right-end stack has been rebuilt. A four-pane sash window is present on the left return. A flat-roofed 20th-century extension to the west of No. 7 is not considered to be of historic interest.
