Description

This is a row of cottages dating back to the 18th century, which were remodelled in the mid-19th century. The cottages are constructed of roughly-tooled squared stone with cut dressings, and tooled-and-margined on numbers 1 and 2. They have Welsh slate roofs and three stacks rebuilt in brick on their original bases. The row comprises a single storey and 15 bays overall. There are three vertically-panelled doors, each with foliate hinges, and four-pane sash windows. Stepped end stacks feature chamfered caps, and one similar stack along with three rebuilt ridge stacks are also present. The left return of number 4 shows two blind windows and a wall post box displaying the initials ‘V.R.’ Number 4 incorporates the former number 3, whose front door has been blocked.
