Description
The building is a former railway station waiting room, now a private house, dating from the mid-19th century. It features an ashlar front with squared stone returns and a rear, topped by a Welsh slate roof and dressed stone chimneys, all designed in a Tudor style. The structure is single storey with four bays and has raised quoins. The left end bay has a replaced door behind a late 20th-century glazed porch, and there are replaced casements in chamfered surrounds under hoodmoulds. A small cast-iron drinking fountain is built into the wall on the right side. The building has moulded stone gutter brackets and a steeply-pitched roof with coped gables, square blocks at the apexes, and square kneelers. A central cross-axial chimney features octagonal-plan stacks. The building is included for its group value.
