Description

The gatescreen located on Howick Road, approximately 150 metres west of Craster Tower, is likely from the late 18th century. It is constructed of squared whinstone, featuring cut sandstone piers and dressings. The gatescreen has square piers that are topped with moulded cornices and swept-and-banded square finials. The structure includes 1.5-metre high quadrant walls that connect to similar end piers, although two of the finials are broken.
