HUMSHAUGH CHESTERS ?lY 9170 15/225 Old Lodge 50 metres west of Chesters main entrance

Gate lodge, late C18 altered early C19. North end squared stone, other elevations rubble with tooled porch front and dressings; stone slate roof. West elevation 1 storey, 2 bays; central porch has vertical-panelled door, in moulded surround with flat-pointed head, and coped gable on moulded kneelers. Flanking bays have 8-pane fixed casements in chamfered surrounds. Coped gables; end stacks, the left stepped and banded, the right rendered. Left return has plinth, sill band and pedimented gable; two 16-pane sash windows. Added right bay not of special interest.
