Description

GLANTON GLANTON PIKE NU 01 SE Wall with attached 8/207 structures and gatepiers, to south and east of stable yard GV II

Stable yard wall, privy, dog kennel and gatepiers, probably late C18; late C19 game larder. C18 structures squared stone except for rubble rear face of wall; larder rubble with tooled-and-margined dressings and Welsh slate roof; privy roof C20 metal sheets. Curving wall with pent dog-kennel on north and privy to south; attached gateway on north at east end and larder at south end.

Wall 2.5 metres high with pitched coping; near centre is boarded door to privy, with on left pent dog-kennel with round arch and single-slab roof. Gateway has square piers with plinth and pyramidal caps. Larder is small square structure with boarded door flanked by chamfered slits on west, single slit to south and twin slits to east; steep pyramidal roof carries slatted cylindrical vent with moulded finial.
