Description
This is a pair of gravestones located approximately 15 yards south of the Church of St. Michael. They date from 1723 and 1726 and are made of sandstone.
On the left is the gravestone of Isabell Archbold, dated 1723. It is a small tablet with a pedimented top and features a prominent memento mori on the rear.
On the right is the gravestone of Ann Crea, dated 1726. This stone is also a small tablet but has an arched top, with a bold memento mori on the rear as well. The inscription reads:
"Remember me/Lord with that Love/Which thou to thine dost/Bear with thy salvation only/God to visit me draw near/That thy chosen and good may see and in their joy rejoyce/and may with thine inheritance/triumph with cheerful voice."
This inscription is noted as the last words of Ann, daughter of Andrew Crea, who passed away in March 1726.
