Description
A range of farm buildings dating from the mid-18th century, located to the east of Middle Moor Farmhouse. The buildings originally comprised stables, a cartshed, and shelter sheds, with a granary situated above. The front elevation is constructed of brick with tooled stone dressings. A later extension is of squared stone, and the rear elevation is also in squared stone. The roof is covered in pantiles, and is hipped on the right-hand side. The front features two boarded doors, a cart entrance with a tooled stone lintel, alternating-block jambs and glinters, and an arcade of three segmental arches with raised keystones. Twelve slatted windows provide light to the granary. On the rear elevation are similar granary windows, and an external stone staircase leads to a boarded door. The interior of the granary includes first-floor beams with incised carpenters’ marks. The adjacent farmhouse has been altered and is not considered of historical interest.
