Description
East Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1699, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of random rubble, incorporating some Roman stone, and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys.
The garden front consists of four asymmetrical bays. The third bay contains a 20th-century glazed door with an early 19th-century raised surround. The flanking bays feature 30-pane sash windows in similar surrounds. The left bay, which is an 18th-century extension of the original house, has a renewed 6-pane sash window on the ground floor and a narrow 12-pane sash window above. To the left of the door, there is a small square window with a chamfered surround and iron bars.
The rear, which serves as the present entrance front, has a catslide roof on the left half. This section includes a 19th-century door with arched panels. The two-storey section to the left has a 19th-century door beneath a dated lintel with a hoodmould. Above this door, there is a casement window that also features a hoodmould and a stepped chamfered surround. The roof is gabled with a stone corniced ridge and a left gable stack.
