Description
Palace House is a house located in Holy Island, dating from the 16th century, with a 19th-century wing at the rear and 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of random rubble, featuring many large boulders and quoins, and has thick walls. It has a Welsh slate roof and rebuilt brick chimneys, forming an L-shape. The house is two storeys high with attics and has irregular openings. The entrance features a 20th-century door flanked by four-pane sash windows in raised concrete surrounds. On the first floor, there are two four-pane sashes, and to the left, there is a blocked 16th-century doorway with a Tudor-arched head in a chamfered surround, complete with a relieving arch above. The first floor also shows the jambs of blocked original openings. The roof is gabled with flat coping, end stacks, and two gabled dormers.
