Description
The Farne House and attached cottage is a building from the early to mid-19th century located on the north side of Marygate in Holy Island. It is constructed of random rubble whinstone with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof with raised alternating quoins.
The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The central door consists of two long panels with an overlight set in a raised surround. There are 12-pane sash windows in similar surrounds on either side of the door. The gabled roof has flat coping and rebuilt end stacks.
To the right of the house is a single-storey cottage that has a 6-panelled door, a plank door to the right, and a 12-pane sash window to the left.
